    And now the right has moved to High Dudgeon. They have suddenly become enlightened over the plight of the LGBT community.

      I find that about as convincing as their concern over misogyny and homophobia in the Muslim world, in other words, not very. They're only interested in doing so in order to attack an external Other and deflect from their own sins regarding these issues. This is more of the same.
