There is a lot of fear. I know. I feel it. At such a moment
I come back to a thought I've told family members at times of stress or grief.
Optimism isn't principally an analysis of present reality. It's an ethic. It is
not based on denial or rosy thinking. It is a moral posture toward the world we
find ourselves in. If everything seems great, there's no need for optimism. The
river of good news just carries you along.
Can't do any better than that today. I'm a bit catatonic today.

As I've said elsewhere: Trump has only one lawsuit to deal with, and that a racketeering one because of his fraudulent Trump Univeristy. The other lawsuit for child rape was dropped by his accuser. So there's that. His supporters can be proud of their president-elect. He's facing only one law suit. And he's the only president-elect in the history of the U.S. who's ever done that.
ReplyDeleteBravo. Only one lawsuit!
There's gonna be a lot of buyer's remorse over the course of the next 4 years. I expect his approval rating to be below water by Spring. But then, what do I know?
ReplyDeleteI just got online and wasn't on yesterday, so I don't know if you're back to blogging, Shaw. Wanted to say how sorry I am, well not just about the election, but about the trash you receive from trolls and subtrolls. The advantages there are in having no traffic.
Be well. As my dear, departed mother would say, "This too shall pass." Then she'd say don't use cliches like dear, departed.
